The first season did not have a direct sequel so Japanese fans waited with anticipation for the second season. In 2006, Crayon Shin Chan season 2 was released and a complete DVD collection was released to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the cartoon. But on the afternoon of May 31, 2009, the first episode aired the second season will be the final. In order to commemorate the 20 years since the creation of the Crayon Shin Chan TV show, the show will broadcast all 13 episodes in this final season. These episodes will be aired on Saturday, August 19, 2009, at 7:00pm on GMA Network. However, there will be fan conventions where you can enjoy the episodes as well as "Crayon Shin Chan" merchandise. A fan convention was already held in Manila, Philippines.
Crayon Shin Chan season 1 was followed by another 17 episodes. However, the ratings were not as high as the first season, but still great. The second season is the biggest hit in Cartoon Network Asia. In 2007, The second season broke local records with its popularity. Fans would wait eagerly for the next episode of the show. Crayon Shin Chan season 3 began airing in July 2007. Fans were excited for the new season. However, this season was not as popular as the previous two. The following short movie was aired but in the same day. The new version of the show reran three days after the next day. No dubbing was added. No new episodes were aired for a month. Then on June 5, the next full version of the show was aired.
Crayon Shin Chan season 3 will have 20 or so episodes of new episodes and a new movie was added. The new movie will be of Crayon Shin Chan teaching his friends and his classmates how to tie their shoelaces. This will be aired on July 23 and will be shown later on July 23, 2009. 3d9ccd7d82
